Laurie has been creating artwork in one form or another for as long as she can remember. After working as an ESL teacher at Mount Royal College, and raising a family, Laurie began oil painting. Art and design courses at U of C and ACAD, and other courses and workshops have helped Laurie become the artist she is today.

Laurie's paintings reflect her self-imposed challenge to use colour and light to capture an image in as few strokes as possible. They also reflect her love of trying new things.

Laurie's work is in public and private collections in Canada and the United States.
